Airshow Location

This air show is unique in that it will be located centrally in a major NZ city, surrounded by the harbour, central business district and suburbs. State highways provide easy access to the show venue, Tauranga airport and adjacent parking areas.

The airport is adjacent to the resort town of Mount Maunganui.  ‘The Mount’, as it is known locally, provides stimulating surf and safe harbour beaches, quality shopping, food in plenty, entertainment and fine accommodation.

The Mount itself visually dominates both the town and the entrance to a deep water harbour housing one of the largest commercial ports in New Zealand. It is also a popular port of call for cruise ships that provide an impressive spectacle as they navigate the harbour entrance close to the base of the Mount.

The main surf beach extends for some 24km southeast from the town past the airport access roads and the coastal suburb of Papamoa.
